Project “community garden”
A community garden (also known as a community garden) is a community agriculture practice that takes place on a small area of land located in public spaces. Community gardens are usually planted in public parks, schools, church yards, and on abandoned lots. In the case of Fundebmuni, one hectare is being used in the Campo de los asistentes, in our province; San Cristobal. Being cared for by a community of people in this case children and their families from the neighborhoods of 5 de Abril, Canastica and Lava Pies.
We have decided to carry out the planting of a community garden for many reasons. They increase people’s access to healthy and organic fruits, especially in areas where the population cannot afford to buy fresh and healthy food (marginalized neighborhoods). They teach young people where their food comes from. They allow ordinary people to develop organic farming skills. Community gardens are also a place of celebration.
Project vision:
Facilitate a meeting place and group work. Environmental education is promoted to improve people’s quality of life through access to fresh, organic food.
